First of all, I just realized I'm wearing the same t-shirt in this picture as I was in the picture below. I blame my wife...she really should have picked up on this and not allowed me to leave the house like that. Additionally, I can promise you that t-shirt was not washed in between wearings and it's probably pretty rank right now - I may wash it this weekend but I'm not sure.
The Judah Friedlander show was a blast and Judah is a funny and geniune person - I liked him a lot. His parents and brother are really cool too. Zach Toczynski was a great MC and has wonderful skin and nice teeth and is funny and has a great tatoo on his arm. Jay Hastings is hilarious and will do anything for a laugh. If you don't believe me, check out my photo page in a few days for proof...proof of life. Russell Crowe is such a douchebag.
I liked my set at the State Theatre but it was my first time performing in a theatre and I had a difficult time hearing the audience reaction. I had a lot of fun on stage but couldn't tell how that set was going because the laughter seemed to take forever to make it's way to me ears; establishing a rhythm is much easier in a club. Still, I was pleased with my set and I thought Zach and Judah were fabulous. After the show, I did a yagerbomb with Jay and almost through up; I'm not a big drinker, folks.
Sunday, I planned a UFC party. The fights had already taken place but I planned to buy the fight on OnDemand. I shut myself off from all media on Sunday; no tv, no radio, no internet. Finally, by 6pm, my friends had arrived and it was time! From 6pm to 8pm, we enjoyed some marvelous fights. Mike Swick submitted Joe Riggs with a guillotine choke in an upset and established himself as a force in the middleweight division. Brandon Vera looked strong in his fight and I think he's going to get a shot at Arlovski or Sylivia sooner than anyone thought. Why am I telling you this? Check www.ufc.com for full recap. The Hughes vs Gracie fight was actually pretty sad. Although I totally expected Hughes to win the fight, I never thought he would dominate Royce the way he did. It was sad to see a legend get outclassed the way he did. It just goes to show how quickly athletes progress; Matt Hughes is a destroyer!
After the fight was over, we all migrated to the grass yard in front of my condo and began wrestling, submission style. Since none of us know jiu jitsu, it was pretty sloppy and probably a bit comical to watch. Nevertheless, a few of my neighbors spotted us and some started watching from their balconies while others closed their blinds. Since it was like 10:30pm, we are probably lucky they didn't call the police. Because we are all idiots, we took our shirts off to wrestle. By the time we finished, I was incredibly itchy and had welts on my body from some type of allergic reaction to the grass - not smart. I'm probably going to hold these backyard wrestling events on a monthly basis. All are welcome but there are some rules; no striking, chokes and locks only, if you are a former wrestler or know a martial art you must notify everyone first, you must have a specialty (ex. my specialty is the stink palm).
I'll be at the Baltimore Comedy Factory on Sunday to perform for a Benefit. If you're in the area, stop by because I'll be telling the same old jokes I always tell; I don't like to throw curveballs.
love ya.
